Soon here are 3 European Information design conferences all within a month of each other. The first two have a media/news bias,the last one is more general.
They are:
Malofiej World Infographics Summit - March 25-27, Pamplona, Spain (next week)
Organised by Society of News Design
I have been many times and the content is very good - the surroundings and social elements are fantastic.
IC09 - Infographics09 - 20 march, Holland, (this friday)
It's run by Frederick Ruys who is a great guy - so it should be good.

Information Design Conference 09 London,UK, 2-3 April
Run by the London based IDA, I'll be speaking on "Patterns in Information Graphics"
and I'll be there for the two days too, so we can have a beer (and probably discuss information design.
Ill also be doing a turn at Conferences Redux - an event that will report back on Etech, TED, SXSW and LIFT.
I'll discuss on some Information Visualisation/ Design ideas from this years TED Conference. Started by Richard Saul Wurman, this is a conference with Designing for Understanding in it's DNA.
